“The Dako Roo”
Initially inspired to create boards with wider tails and flatter rockers working closely with Hector Santamaria for the past few years it became clearly apparent that these attributes in Surfboards are essential for the everyday waves we so often encounter. The Dako Roo is one such model designed for most regular, average conditions.
The board has a wide profile with plenty of volume forward in the board, concentrated under the chest area which makes paddling into waves easier. The tail is also quite wide which creates initial acceleration from the board when up and riding, not to mention gliding through flatter or softer sections of waves a breeze. The overall rocker of the board is quite minimal and smooth with low to medium lift in the nose and low tail curve…this paired with the aforementioned overall shape creates a lot of speed and acceleration in The Dako Roo. The bottom contours in this design are relatively similar to The Wombi Fish with a subtle quad concave entry blending into a double within a single concave which deepens between the mid section of the board and softens between the fins and finally off the tail.
The Dako Roo performs best as a thruster set-up and is a hybrid short-board specifically designed for small short period waves…a perfect summer alternative.
